About Author
A former art director, T. Duren Jones worked in marketing, advertising, commercial art and publishing for more than 30 years. Retired now from the workforce, but not from life, he writes accounts from his wilderness trail adventures, as well as canvas paints nature images from his own photography … when he’s not out hiking. This is his third novel.
Tim (he thinks T. Duren sounds more impressive) gets out into the wilderness as often as possible—camping, fishing, forest hiking, desert trail trekking and “bagging” peaks—and does he have stories to tell! He’s hiked hundreds of trails, completed the nearly 500 miles of the Colorado Trail, and has summited all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000-ft. peaks. He loves the outdoors, and check-off lists. He’s kind of crazy that way. The author enjoys taking friends and family on wilderness quests with him … and most of them have survived his escapades.

Tim and his wife Diane have raised four creative and equally adventurous children. Now they are introducing the next generation—the grandchildren—to the wilderness. They all enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle together in the high country in their home state of Colorado. And Tim enjoys telling tales from the trials.
This love of storytelling naturally lead to writing novels, including PINEHAVEN, A Mountain Pilgrimage, ALMOST HOME and LEGION RISING. His non-fiction books include his mostly-true trail adventures, TALES FROM THE TRAILS and TRAIL MIX, as well as a hiking through history guidebook, EASY HIKES TO THE HIDDEN PAST, Pikes Peak Region Edition.
